A regular Genoa Aquarium admission ticket lets visitors see sharks and other marine life along the Aquarium’s daytime visitor route.

Night with Sharks offers a different perspective, focusing on how marine animals behave after dark. Children explore the Aquarium after closing, observe nocturnal activity and spend the night beside the shark tank.

Night with Sharks is a standalone experience. A regular Aquarium admission ticket is not required; the experience booking covers access to the Aquarium for its scheduled overnight programme.

  • Overnight experience: Guided evening visit, activities, overnight stay beside the shark tank, morning animal observation and breakfast.
  • Age: For children aged 7–11; adult participation is not included in the current experience format.
  • Start time: 9pm; the experience ends at approximately 9am the following morning.
  • Where you sleep: Camp beds are set up directly in front of the shark tank, with participants sleeping in sleeping bags.
  • Booking: Advance reservation is required through the designated booking channel; dates are limited to the scheduled nights.

What happens during Night with Sharks

Enter the Aquarium after hours

Arrive at the Aquarium at around 9pm, check in with the guides and begin the evening programme after regular visitors have left.

Explore the Aquarium at night

Take part in a guided nighttime visit and discover the Aquarium’s marine life in a quieter, darker setting. The experience focuses on behaviours and characteristics that are less apparent during a regular daytime visit.

Discover nocturnal animal behaviour

Observe how the Aquarium changes after dark and learn about the nocturnal behaviour of the animals. With the exhibition lighting off, the tanks reveal different movements, colours and activity compared with the daytime route.

Set up camp beside the shark tank

Later in the evening, camp beds are arranged directly in front of the shark tank. Settle into a sleeping bag and spend the night inside the Aquarium, with the sharks just beyond the tank glass.

Watch the Aquarium wake up

The following morning, pack up the sleeping area and visit selected tanks again. Observe the animals as they wake and see the Aquarium transition back into its daytime routine.

Finish with breakfast

End the overnight adventure with breakfast at the Aquarium before leaving at around 9am.
